Khandu body was recovered by the army on Thursday morning.
Khandu pronounced dead on Wednesday when his helicopter crashed Saturday in the wreckage, located in the secluded hills near the border of Indo-China Luguthang height of over 4000 meters.
"The death of Arunachal chief minister has been confirmed. The army recovered the body of the CM, along with four other Keyla. The bodies were taken to Luguthang people by land," said Minister in the Union P Chidambaram, in New Delhi.
Khandu body was transported to Raj Bhawan here after a post mortem examination was conducted in Tawang.
CM body was kept in his official bungalow in Itanagar people to pay their last respects. His last rites performed in his native village, Gyangkhar-in Tawang.
Pawan Hans Eurocopter B3 vessels carrying Chief Minister Khandu and four others went to Tawang on Saturday at 09:56 at the state capital Itanagar, which is 200 km away. Chopper expected to arrive by 11:30.
