Google: 6 Billion Applications On Android

In consideration for Google in the second quarter call yesterday that the company announced that it has now been installed applications on Android 6000000000. The search giant also noted that Android is now seeing 550 000 unit activations per day, against 500,000 a little over two weeks.

It took 20 months for Google to reach one billion programs on the Android platform. Five months later, the company had struck 2000000000 milestone programs installed. Two months later, the company at 3 billion of installed applications. The final stage was reached three months ago. In other words, the company sees about $ 1 billion software downloaded each month.

Because Android is open, however, users of the platform for downloading applications from more than one App Store. For example, Amazon has launched its own Android App Store last month.

To put the number 6 billion in perspective, Apple announced earlier this month that she saw 15 billion program downloaded from the IOS. Apple saw one billion applications downloaded in April 2009. In short, because sales are growing so fast Android phone, Google downloads the application will be updated soon with the numbers from Apple. It's impressive, considering that Google's Android Market has more than 200 000 applications in December 2010, while Apple App Store has more than 300,000 applications for September 2010.
