The last rites Arunchal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu be made in her village in Tawang district Gyangkhar by Monpa Buddhist traditions.
In accordance with traditional practices, the flames generally prescribe procedures for the last rites on the basis of good and evil deeds of a deceased person, a close associate of Mr. Khandu and Sahitya Akademi Yeshe Dorje member Thongchai said.
"Towards the end of the prime minister was against the practice Monpa to throw the body into the river because he was a strong supporter of clean and green," said Thongchi.
The final decision, however, should be adopted by family members after consultation with Buddhist lamas, "he said.
"The lamas studying the Scriptures, before announcing the rituals and the date, time and day for the last rites," Mr. Thongchai said.
