Nokia N9 Will Not Be Available In The United States At The Launch

For those of you in the U.S. waiting to get their hands on Nokia first (and last) phone Meegan, the N9 - we have some bad news for you. The people at Engadget recently got in touch with Nokia to determine a deadline for the telephone, and just received terrible news: the N9 is not available in the U.S. - At least not at launch, and no confirmation if it occurs later either. The response had been questioned on the date of dispatch of phone:

Following the very positive reception for the launch of Nokia N9, the product is now being deployed in countries around the world. At that time we will not make it available to the United States. Nokia is a market where the market approach for the deployment of products, and each country makes its own decisions about the products the import of those available. Decisions are based on an assessment of existing and future products in the portfolio of products from Nokia and the best way to address local market opportunities.

With all the excitement that has been raised about phone MeeGo who feels this new as such a terrible blow. Now users will have to go through the hassle of importing the equipment from abroad if they want to get N9. Could Nokia's reluctance to release the phone in the U.S., due to the fact that they do not want to eat in the sales of Windows phone devices when they launch? Hope that the Finnish company will not take too long to change his opinion on the availability of the phone.
