Ford Five Hundred Points, The Mercury Montego Sedans Pain Above The Fuel Tank

Ford announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reminiscent of nearly 3,000 examples of its five hundred and Mercury Montego (photo), the sedan model year 2007.


The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, because of potentially faulty welds between filling the fuel tank, a condition that can cause a fuel leak or smell gas for residents. In the worst case, a leak causing a fire. Cars with the problem of the fuel tank affected could see a warning light illuminated in flight due to evaporation of leak detection programs.


Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to the owners (who have had the cost of the procedure may request a refund), and the manufacturer of Dearborn will begin notifying owners Five Hundred and Montego Principle 15 August.
