Earth May Turn Into A Robot Helicopter

The next Transformers movie was released in July, which will undoubtedly encourage some young people to aspire to that time, they could have their own real robot transform. Researchers at the Center for Distributed Robotics at the University of Minnesota turns this dream into reality. To be fair, but they have not figured out how to turn an airplane or in a food drive for now, but they have developed a small robot that moves on earth and can transform into a helicopter to go to clouds.

The prototype runs on two wheels and has two independent motor systems. Apparently, it was much easier to design the robot with two engines instead of finding ways to design a transmission that can alternate between the low to the wheels of the robot, while in the ground and the high speed required for the rotors when flying robot. Now before you start thinking that this model will be offered by Air Hogs for the modest sum of $ 19.95, you should think again. The folding mechanism of the rotor robot cost about $ 20,000 to create.
