Windows Home Server 2011 Add-In Allows Remote Administration Via Phone Windows 7

Windows Home Server has always been a great way to store and share media across a home network, but to find ways to access that content on mobile devices has always been something of a challenge. Rather than force users to kludge together a solution using various add-on to its customers is now a server who remained faithful to the Microsoft platforms have the ability to easily access their content on the go.

Phone connector Windows Server solutions for Windows Mobile 7, besides being a mouthful, giving users plenty of options for remote access to administer the server, while on the road. The add-on allows you to remotely manage user accounts and backups, and any streaming music, photos or videos stored on the server. The connector and add-on is also compatible with the version of the enterprise server and storage of Windows, but it is clear that this function makes more sense for home users who want to stream content on the road.

Server add-on can be downloaded here, and Windows 7 phone can be found in the Zune Marketplace.

Most Tech Take: We have not had the opportunity to test the new utility yet, so let's just say we're cautiously optimistic. If it works as promised, would be a good way to take your media with you, but it is clear that some of the challenges it faces. Not only is it necessary to be running the latest version of Home Server 2011, but it requires Windows Mobile 7 as well. I can not help but wonder how many servers based on Intel Atom take up to convert a video on the fly. I'm afraid not so well.
